CAMERA?

What are you guys shooting with?
SLEEPIN GIANT MEDIA    September 17, 2009 02:31 AM

Nice!
Timothy Zwica    September 17, 2009 02:41 AM

We shot this with the RED One.
Tony Murnahan    September 17, 2009 11:31 AM

RED

I could tell that was shot with the RED. I haven't quite figured out how I can always tell something is shot on the RED. My buddy shoots on a RED ONE and maybe that's why. Great job again. What did you guys use for lighting the exterior shots?
Timothy Zwica    September 17, 2009 01:37 PM

Exterior lighting answer

Well, the main source believe it or not, was one of those towed highway work lights with the built in generator. It was all I could afford. Luckily we were able to find a shutter setting that eliminated the strobe. I think Chris threw some blue gels on the lamps. I know there were some smaller lights around for fill and rim, but I would have to check the log to remember exactly.

Perfect Trailer!

Is there a firm release date for this film? Theater or Web? Is a 2nd trailer in the works?
Philip Johnston    September 18, 2009 12:06 PM

A RED ONE !

How come you are using a RED ONE and you talk about having problems affording proper lighting...as they say "This does not compute". From what I have seen so far it's brill...on a budget or not, lighting is great, camerawork excellent, sound carries the pictures...why not email this to Hollywood, it's got to be better than some of the crap they turn out.

You must have reasons for not allowing embedding or I would have gladly shown it on my blog www.hdwarrior.co.uk

Good luck...hope we see more.

re: A RED ONE !

Philip,

Thanks very much for the kind words! We did have proper lights. I just could not afford the HMI's for the night shoot. So I took a chance and opted for the work light. My DP was Kendal Miller and the gaffer was Chris Gearhart. They assembled a fantastic crew and did an outstanding job.

There will be a proper trailer in the near future. Right now I am just banging away on the many vfx shots.

Do you already have a composer?

Excellence

Very professional! One of the best I've seen on this website, which is my favorite film website. Loved the quality of the sound!
Jordan Oplinger    September 25, 2009 01:22 PM

Looks awesome!

Great work! If this opening scene is any indication, this is going to be a pretty slick film!
jon rabalais    September 25, 2009 01:51 PM

VERY IMPRESSIVE. GREAT WORK!

Tim,
You have done an amazing job with the creating the atmosphere and tone of the film through the color grading, VFX, and sound design. You truly are what everyone on set was saying 'a WIZ KID' at VFX. Keep it up, I look forward to seeing the finished piece!

this looks like...

...an old skool (creature) horror made in a very stylish way. although i mainly think the creature part because of the title(design) haha. Or maybe i've watched to many 50's/60's horror films.

But as everyone says, it looks really good, cant wait to see more.

Max Miller

Beautiful c-tograhpy and I love the mood you set with the sepia toned palette.

The lightning strokes. After Effects right? The title, was made with Trapcodes Particular right?

The sign for the restaurant, was that an actual sign or did you build it in 3DSMAX?

Really nice piece of film making. I can't wait for the release.

Amazing!
Aistis Palenskis    June 14, 2011 10:25 AM

fascinating lighting and colour grading. Extraordinary camerawork, I'd say, doesn't go with the highly crescendo horror soundscape, I'd go for a less vivid and defined approach. Overall very pleasant to the eyes
